Winter Extremes - Oh, Deer!

Join us for an informative evening with Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife's Regional Biologist, Keel Kemper. Keel will discuss current wildlife issues including the effects of severe winters on Maine's wildlife including the White-tailed deer population. Keel has more than 20 years experience as the regional biologist in the midcoast region. Bring all of your wildlife questions! Suggested donation of $5. This is the second in SVCA's Winter Series: "From Microscopic to Megafauna: Exploring the Sheepscot Watershed." For all dates see our website. All Ages Winter Tracking Walk with SVCA & HVNC
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
at SVCA's Trout Brook Preserve
Join naturalist Lynne Flaccus for a winter exploration of the Preserve to see what winter active wildlife is up to. All ages welcome; wear warm winter boots comfortable for walking and appropriate clothing for a short hike. Free snowshoes available for use courtesy of Hidden Valley Nature Center. Directions: From Wiscasset & south, take Route 218 North for 6.5 miles to the Alna Store. Continue on Rte 218 for 1/2 mile. The preserve parking lot and kiosk are located on the left just past Peaslee Road (on the right). From the north take Rte 218 south into Alna, after crossing the town line continue for ~1.5 miles to the preserve parking lot on the right. $5 suggested donation.
